Everything happens in the time the pasta takes, so read it through first.

What goes in
- Wholewheat spaghetti200 g
- Raw peeled prawns250 g
- Garlic cloves, thinly sliced3
- Red chilli, sliced1
- Flat-leaf parsley, chopped1 handful
- Lemon1
- Olive oil4 tbsp
What to do
- Get the pasta into well-salted boiling water and set a timer a minute short of the packet time.
- Warm the oil, garlic and chilli in a wide pan over a low heat. Let the garlic go pale gold and no further.
- Raise the heat, add the prawns and cook for two minutes, turning once, until they are pink and curled.
- Lift the pasta straight into the pan with tongs, bringing a good splash of its water with it.
- Toss hard for a minute — the starch and oil will come together into a sauce. Finish with the parsley and lemon.
